36th Annual Midnight Madness Fun Bicycle Ride |

This year marks the 36th anniversary of the Midnight Madness Fun Bicycle Ride. Hostelling International San Diego started the ride in 1973 as a tribute to Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride; and now this family-friendly San Diego event has grown from a few hundred local riders to over 1,600 participants. Midnight Madness has truly become a renowned bicycle ride in Southern California, and one of the few rides in the country that begins at the stroke of midnight.
Midnight Madness offers one of the most scenic routes for bicyclists anywhere. Cycling around Harbor Island and Shelter Island offers riders unique and spectacular nighttime views of downtown San Diego. Another important feature of Midnight Madness is the contests. The REI Light the Bike and Alaska Airlines Costume Contest bring out the creative and zany side of fun-loving bicyclists, and give participants a chance to win fabulous prizes!
